Simba’s mum faced a terrible situation. After being impacted by domestic violence and struggling with severe mental health challenges, she needed to be admitted to hospital. But in her darkest hour, her biggest worry wasn’t just about herself; it was about Simba, her cherished cat. With no close family or friends to turn to and unable to afford private boarding, she feared she might have to surrender Simba — a thought that broke her heart when they both needed each other so much.

That’s when a compassionate social worker introduced Simba’s mum to Cherished Pets. Understanding the urgency of the situation, our volunteers quickly stepped in. Simba was brought to our emergency boarding cattery, where he received the care he needed while his mum focused on getting well.

Thanks to the comprehensive care and support we provide, Simba’s mum was able to focus on her recovery, knowing that Simba was in safe hands. and before long, they were reunited.
